Physical therapy can treat a wide range of conditions. As a primarily orthopedic clinic, we are especially practiced at treating conditions that involve various bones, muscles, or joints in the body. Yes! At Aligned Orthopedic & Sports Therapy, we have many therapists who have completed continuing education courses to specialize in advanced treatment such as dry needling, McKenzie Method, Blood Flow Restriction training and many others. Look through our treatments page for some of the advanced treatments we offer as well as therapists who have specialized interests!

Prior to your initial evaluation, we will verify your insurance benefits including how many visits your insurance covers, if there is a copay, deductible, and any other associated costs as it relates to physical therapy. You will be provided a copy of the above information at your initial visit. However, to be completely sure that your physical therapy is covered, it is best to call your insurance company and confirm your benefits with them. 

We have multiple therapists on staff who speak a variety of languages. While we do not have interpreters on staff, we are able to provide you with a video interpreter for your appointments at no cost to you.

Aligned Orthopedic and Sports Therapy accepts most major insurance plans. Please check the location you are interested in attending physical therapy at for a more specific list of insurances. You can confirm participation with your plan when you call to schedule. 

To request an appointment, please call the office that is located nearest you. We have many offices conveniently located around the DMV. 

Appointments last between 40- 60 minutes. Depending on what you are attending physical therapy for, and where you are in your plan of care will determine the length of your appointment. Please arrive  10-15 minutes early for your appointment to complete the intake paperwork. This is required even if you have seen one of our partner physicians. 

Your physical therapist will be able to give a better estimate of this after your initial evaluation. The length of treatment will depend on why you are attending physical therapy, whether you had or will be having surgery, and your individual goals. Treatment length can vary from one visit to a few months.

It is best to wear something you are comfortable moving in. If you are coming in for your knee, it may be beneficial to wear shorts so we can fully examine your knee. If you are coming in for your shoulder or arm, it may be beneficial to wear a t-shirt to allow for full examination. 

 Please bring to your first appointment your

  • Referral for PT 
  • Insurance card 
  • Photo ID
  • Please bring any braces/ splints/ slings/ assistive devices that you have been using so you can review them with your therapist.

For most locations, a referral is required prior to beginning physical therapy at Aligned Orthopedic and Sports Therapy. 

Direct Access is available at select locations. 

 

By going to PT associated with physicians, there are a couple benefits. First, if at any point we need to communicate with your physician, this is easier to do from within the same system. Second, we stay up to date on your physician’s preferred rehabilitation protocol. 

Yes! We accept referrals from all doctors, not just our partners.

It depends. We do our best to make sure that you see the same provider each time. However, the great thing about physical therapy is that we all work as a team. For some patients, the time of day may be more important, and you may choose to vary who your appointment is with to make sure you get the same appointment time each visit. We will always work to get each visit with the same provider when possible.
