Erik attended the University of Maryland where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology before obtaining his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at WashU in Saint Louis. After graduate school, Erik went on to complete a Sports Physical Therapy Residency through Ochsner Health in New Orleans and is now a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).
Leading up to DPT school, Erik was a NASM certified Master Personal Trainer, specializing in corrective exercise (CES), performance / sports training (PES), weight loss (WLS), and was a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with over 10 years of personal training experience.
Erik grew up in Pawleys Island, SC and spent the second half of his life in the DC Metro Area. Growing up, Erik played football and lacrosse, practiced various styles of martial arts, and skateboarded and surfed. Following high school Erik was offered a D1 lacrosse scholarship but received an injury, which sparked his journey in becoming a Sports Physical Therapist.
Erik continues to remain active and enjoys lifting weights, running, MMA, hiking/exploring the outdoors, cycling, and surfing. When not being active, Erik enjoys anime, traveling, spending time with family and friends, enjoying happy hour, and supporting local businesses.
