Stephen graduated from Husson University in 2018 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He spent five years honing his skills in the outpatient orthopedic setting in Bangor, Maine, where he specialized in improving his manual skills through training from the NAIOMT (North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy). During this time, Stephen also immersed himself in the collegiate soccer world, having been a former collegiate soccer player. He transitioned into coaching while working in the Bangor area, where he coached collegiate soccer and provided private training sessions on the side.
In 2023, he pursued a sports physical therapy residency at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, overseeing 23 NCAA Division 1 teams. Here, he collaborated closely with a distinguished sports medicine team including strength and conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, and team physicians. During his residency, Stephen traveled extensively to provide acute medical management of injuries alongside athletic trainers, fostering effective teamwork with strength coaches, athletic trainers, coaches, and sports physicians. He also had the opportunity to shadow outpatient surgeries with the team surgeon and attend regular follow-ups with team physicians and student athletes, further enhancing his clinical experience and understanding of sports medicine.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Stephen enjoys snowboarding, soccer, fitness training, and cherishing time with his wife as they eagerly anticipate the arrival of their first child.
