Maria grew up in Montgomery County. She attended Gaithersburg High School and graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a bachelor’s in Biological Sciences. Maria worked in biomedical research at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and volunteered at the Red Cross in Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where she became interested in pursuing a career in Physical Therapy.
